Manuka Honig – nur ein Hype oder wirklich wertvoll?

Provokativ gesagt: Eigentlich ist es „schade“, dass Manuka Honig bei Celebrities und dadurch in der ganzen Welt bekannt geworden ist. Die wachsende Nachfrage lässt nicht nur den Wert und damit die Preise für das neuseeländische Naturprodukt ansteigen, sondern bringt Nachahmer oder Fälscher auf den Plan. Umso wichtiger wird das Vertrauen in die zuverlässige Qualität einer Marke.

Besonders vor dem Hintergrund von drastisch zunehmenden Antibiotikaresistenzen (MRSA) rückt Manuka Honig als natürlich wirksames Antibiotikum – nicht ohne Grund – immer weiter in den Fokus von Wissenschaft und Forschung. Die „Diagnose“ lautet also: Manuka Honig ist mehr als Honig und bleibt für viele Menschen wertvoll.
